SOMETHING ROTTEN IN THE STATE OF DENMARK
Plagued with immigrant crime and gang violence, and concerned about the threat of terrorism, a desperate desperado Denmark is to deploy troops at border controls and frontiers to release more police officers for police work.
Since re-introduction of border controls in early 2016, the Danish police have used 525 man-years on border controls. The soldiers’ assistance will allow policemen to return to crime duties.
Justice Minister Søren Pape Poulsen says, “It’s no secret that these are challenging times for the Danish police. Gang conflicts, border actions and terrorist threats are demanding on the police force,”
160 soldiers have started a two-week training course. The new plan is to always man the border with reinforcements.
