BREAKING NEWS: DONETSK One person was killed and three others wounded in an explosion in a cafe in downtown Donetsk. Alexander Zakharchenko (1976 – 2018), Prime Minister of the Donetsk Peoples Republic has been slain by Washington DC backed assassins.
Zakharchenko was personally known by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The breakaway republic was formed in the wake of the American backed coup which in February 2014 ousted the elected Prime Minister Yanukovych.
Michael Walsh: “At the time of the coup, I was invited by the rebels to edit and enhance their new government’s Press Releases, which I considered an honour. I feel a personal loss.”
Commenting on the issue, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the incident was an attempt to destabilize the situation in the region and bring the people of Donbass to their knees, adding that the organizers and perpetrators of the assassination must be punished. He also stressed that Russia “will always be with the people of Donbass.”
Crimea, historically Russian territory was quick to flee back to their Russian motherland as the grip of the Kiev junta tightened around the throat of Ukraine.
Frustrated, poligarchs of the Ukrainian RADA parliament have since waged a war on the Donetsk Peoples Republic. It is estimated that the war, dubbed The Silent War because of Western media’s refusal to report it, has cost so far 10,500 European lives; mostly civilians.
“According to preliminary data, one dead and three wounded,” the source said. It is reported that a blast occurred earlier Friday in a restaurant several hundred meters from the residence of the prime minister. Later a security source confirmed that Zakharchenko died while DPR Finance minister was wounded due to the incident.
“DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko was killed in an explosion in the Separ cafe. Finance minister Timofeev was wounded in the blast,” the source told media.
In 2014, Kiev kicked off a military operation against the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in the Donbass region. The two republics deemed the new US-backed junta in Kiev to be illegitimate, adding that it seized power in a coup.
Moscow condemned 42-year-old Zakharchenko’s murder, adding that it could be detrimental to the whole peace process in Ukraine. The death of the DNR leader could have a particularly negative impact on the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, Konstantin Kosachev, the head of the Russian Senate’s International Affairs Committee, said.
There is “every reason to believe” that Zakharchenko’s murder was orchestrated by Kiev, which “has repeatedly resorted to such methods to get rid of dissidents and undesirables,” Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said.
Zakharchenko joined Donetsk militia after coup in Kiev in 2014, and in November 2014 was elected as leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
