A collapsing European Union, in tandem with rampant corruption fuelled by George Soros funded NGO’s, coincides with the recent inexplicable slaughter of three prominent European Union investigative journalists.

A TV reporter who covered EU funds fraud cases was brutally murdered and allegedly raped in northern Bulgaria. The horrific incident is the third murder of a journalist in the wobbling EU amid growing concerns over press freedom.

The body of Victoria Marinova, 30, who hosted a show on local TVN, was found dead on a popular jogging route near the Danube River in the city of Ruse on Saturday. The peaceful city has never before experienced such a brutal and ‘senseless’ crime, according to experienced criminologists cited by local media.

The attractive investigative journalist was raped and beaten, and soon afterwards succumbed to head injuries and suffocation, according to local media citing investigators.  The victim’s cell phone, car keys, and some clothes had disappeared, but the car reportedly was not stolen.

No official version of the chilling murder has been presented so far as the authorities are trying to find the perpetrators, saying it’s “just a matter of time.” Police remain open minded as to the reason for their only such crime have not ruled out any motives. Uppermost in their minds will be the unique nature of the slaying and the fact that her occupation invited an assassination with bells on.

Western journalists are well aware that they are ‘soldiers of communication’ and the breaking of the ranks is punishable by death.

“Today in Britain, political journalism means just parroting the official War Party line. It soon became apparent that the government narrative on Salisbury had more holes in it than a slab of Swiss cheese,” says Neil Clark, a mainstream journalist, columnist and broadcaster.

Meanwhile, the OSCE representative on freedom of the media, Harlem Desir, called on the authorities to “quickly determine” if this attack was “linked to her work.”

Some already speculate that Victoria Marinova might have been the victim of her latest report. She hosted the recently-launched ‘Detector’ program, and its last episode covered the investigation by Bivol website, claiming to expose a corruption scheme inside EU-funded projects. TVN, the station she worked for, said she had never received any threats and the entire staff is shocked by the incident.

Michael Walsh is author of THE FIFTH COLUMN. A mainstream journalist for 35 years, he says, “Marinova is the third reporter to be killed in the span of a year in the European Union, as concern grows regarding press safety and freedom.”

Last October, prominent Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who exposed the Maltese prime minister’s offshore dealings in the Panama Papers scandal, died in a car bomb attack.

In February, Slovak investigative journalist Jan Kuciak was shot dead. The 27-year-old was known for his reports on tax fraud and shady dealings of Slovakia’s elite. The police did not rule out that the murder was related“to his investigative activity.”

Veteran British Journalist and Broadcaster, John Pilger, says: “We have got to stop using the term mainstream (media). It is actually an extreme. What could be more extreme than institutions that incite rapacious wars, deception about economic policy, what could be more extreme than that? There is nothing mainstream about that.”

MICHAEL WALSH is an internationally acclaimed journalist, author, poet and broadcaster shunned by liberal-left corporate media. He is the author of EUROPE ARISE and 51 other book titles.
