POETRY

“HE WRITES WITH GOD’S PEN IN HIS HAND.”

Born into a radicalised literary family, Michael Walsh, one of the world’s most loved poets, is ostracised by media for his outspoken defence of European values and culture. The rebellious trait runs in the family.

Patrick, his Irish father, fought in four conflicts. At 18-years of age, Patrick had a British Army reward placed on his head for waging guerrilla war on England’s notorious Black and Tan irregulars. Michael’s mother, Kathleen, a former nun, was a close friend of the Spanish revolutionary Dolores Ibarruri.

As a seaman the dissident poet experienced life, culture and religion in over 60 countries. Few are better qualified than Michael for forming amicable friendships with the world’s ethnically diverse peoples. The poet’s Liverpool contemporaries were the cream of the city’s 1960s pop culture.

Treated as a political pariah by foreign-owned corporate media it is ironic that Michael was once courted by newspapers, periodicals, radio and television. In 2011 the political heretic was awarded ‘Writer of the Year’ by the publishers of Europe’s highest circulation free newspaper.

The rebellious bard has published over 40 books. Furthermore, Michael has a worldwide reputation for penning prose that simply cannot be equalled. It has been said that he ‘writes with the pen of God in his hand.’

Michael’s collection of over 600 verse, poem and soliloquy is enjoyed across the world. Tributes pour in from Siberia, United States, Latin America, Australia, Russia, East and West Europe. Much tribute is paid by renowned and respected church leaders, politicians, media editors, great artistes of international theatre.

A self-indulgent romantic, his verse bares the romantic soul and brings to the surface passion and poignancy.  If Michael would be politically correct he would not be as banished as the Soviet Union’s most famous dissidents once were.

The poetry of Michael Walsh is poetry of the soul.  Of the many tributes he receives those he is most pleased to identify with are those that say, “You articulate my heart thoughts so well; what a gift.”
